Accomodation

The organization of the world Championship Canoe Marathon 2009 prepared different types of accommodation, divided in three different categories.

All these hotels will have a shuttle service to the race course.

The booking is limited to the availability of the hotel. All reservations will be accepted according to the dates of the request. If the hotel you choose is already full we will ask you to choose another category.

Officials and other staff of the world Championship Canoe Marathon 2009 will be accommodated in the category 1 hotel.

There will be three different types of accomodation for the ICF Canoe Marathon World Championship 2009, all of them with the best conditions for all teams, with transport from the airport and to the racing course included.

Breakfast and dinner will always be served in this three category hotels, except if there is any special dinner made by the organization in other place, for exemple, on sunday, 20th September.

Category 1

Hotel Melia Gaia Gaia Porto

Meliã Gaia Porto is a 4* Superior Hotel, located in Gaia city, 20 minutes away from Porto International Airport, only 5 minutes away from the historical Port Wine Cellars and 10 minutes from the Center of Oporto. This will be the hotel for ICF members, special guests, officials and also for teams requesting the best accomodation and services during the ICF Canoe Marathon World Championship 2009.

Category 2

Hotel Star Inn

Category 3

Hotel Holiday Inn Express

Close to the Exponor exhibition centre and MAR Shopping Centre, this hotel offers comfortable accommodation in the city of Matosinhos, with the international airport just a short drive away. Easily accessible by all major roads, Hotel Holiday Inn Express Porto Exponor is located near the beaches of Leça da Palmeira.

The organization of the ICF Canoe Marathon World Championship 2009, will provide this accomodation to all teams that requested category 3 accomodation. This hotel, is not so close to the racing course, but gives to you and your team the best conditions in this category. Of course the shuttle service is also included for this hotel.

Camping

If you are planning to camp in the racing course do not hurry, the organization provides you a special place near the Teams area, with all essencial conditions. Also all team members staing in this place, will be able to use the nautical club facilities, after the racing hours.

There is no charge for this accomodation, but be advised that you have to bring your one tents and there are no transports included from and to the airport. Also no meals are included.

You can request the extra services to the organization for a special price:

• -Lunch in the racing course | 12€
• -Transport from and to the airport | 25€/person

The space for camping is limited, and will not be reserved by the organization, it iwll be on first coming basis.

Please remember , if your team is not accomodated in the organization hotels, the fee to be paid to the organization is 25€/person/day.

If you book one official Hotel of the event, the fee is only 25€/person for the whole event.

Conditions of Payment

The payment for all the concepts (booking, transfer, catering and participation fee) must 50% be paid by 4th September. The rest 50% must be paid before arrival.

Organization will only accept payments by bank tranfer ande before arrival.

Cancellation terms

If you cancel your booking, a charge will be made equivalent to any loss suered by organization .

The amount of any cancellation fee will be calculated as itemized below according to notice given

August 18, 2009 no forfeit of total costs

September 4, 2009 50% of total costs

September 11, 2009 100% of total costs
